Colloquial Spanish Course – Talking about The Body in Spanish
3 min readIn this Spanish lesson, we are going to practice speaking about The Body in Spanish. Initially, we will learn some appropriate grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a brief audio discussion in Spanish. The transcript of the audio will be offered at the end of the post however please try not to take a look at it till you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times.

Speaking about The Body in Spanish:
Now play the audio to listen to a conversation. Can you comprehend what is being said? Play the audio a couple of times prior to you look at the transcript. Do not worry if you don’t comprehend every single thing the two people are saying. Attempt to capture whichever words you can and after that attempt to piece things together to work out what is being stated.

Lo he pensado mucho y he decidido apuntarme.
Jason: ¡ Bien por ti!
Raquel: La verdad es que me gusta bastante y estoy empezando a sentir que tengo más energía. ¿ Qué partes de tu cuerpo has trabajado hasta ahora?Raquel: La primera semana estuvimos trabajando el trasero, la segunda semana las piernas, y esta semana nos hemos centrado en brazos y pecho.
Jason: ¿ Estás usando pesas?
Raquel: Sí, todo el tiempo. Tengo más músculo.
Jason: Solo ten cuidado de no obsesionarte demasiado con eso,
Raquel.Raquel: ¿ Qué quieres decir?
Jason: He visto a gente volverse rápidamente adicta a ir al gimnasio y pasar de estar demasiado gordos a estar demasiado delgados.
Raquel: Eso no me va a pasar.
Jason: Mi hermana va al gimnasio todos los días y ahora no tiene nada de barriga, caderas o trasero.
Raquel: Eso suena fantástico.
Jason: No lo sé.
